Hidup Bersama Group's story

Bendita and Alianca are the members of the Hidup Bersama Group. Bendita is 40 years old and married with 6 children from her marriage to Deolindu, a 52-year-old farmer. In order to make a living, Deolindu grows vegetables, chilies, and other crops to be sold in the village. However, the income earned from farming cannot meet all of their needs, particularly for their children's education costs. Bendita and her husband still support 3 children who are still enrolled in school.

Bendita has the skill of weaving sarongs and shawls, which helps her earn income. She has been involved in this business for years. She can produce 2 shawls and 2 sarongs in a month. She has customers who usually come from other places. Most people have a strong culture, where they should wear or bring a sarong for the community's traditional ceremonials.

In addition, Bendita also has another business producing and selling paung bread (a kind of local bread), donuts, and fried bread. She has been running the business for the last 13 years. For the sake of her family, Bendita is willing to continue these businesses. At the moment, she can only afford to sell 30 pieces of bread, but she wants to sell more, since this is a profitable business for her. Bendita and Alianca have requested a loan from TLM of IDR 1,750,000 for each of them.

In this group: Bendita, Alianca
