The Full Manti

The Full Manti

Feel Good Friday

The dumpling is gnocchi your average food. Cultures all over the world have captured the essence of this pocket-of-dough and have turned it into their own. And its presence gyoza long way from there…From Italian ravioli to Nepalese momo and Nigerian dan wake, the dumpling has become not just a side dish but the full manti. Once they're a bowl of chicken and dumplings deep, people far and wide are left wonton more.

Gungor, a mother of three, has been filling this desire throughout her town in Turkey. She has a small business making manti, a Turkish dumpling, and is using her microloan of $150 to invest in wholesale flour, oil and other ingredients to expand her business.

As dumpling fans ourselves, we felt it was our pierogi’tive to help Güngör fill that void too. So we have brought samoa Turkish fabric to the Taaluma collection to fund microloans for Güngör and more small Turkish businesses like hers.

Here’s to this full manti and to feeling good—because after all, it's Friday!
